I extended my illustration to creating "dioramas", not a title I particularly favour, but one that is recognised. For me they are essentially a form of sculpted illustration, a three-dimensional picture. Although they are more commonly associated with military models, I was first inspired to make them on seeing Nativity scenes in Austria. I have made scenes from Shakespeare, children's books, literature and poetry.
